My sweetheart

I have been tagged for the first time! Just thank my great friend Kelsey. This sweetheart tag should be fun...

1. Where did you first meet your sweetheart?

I remember the day well. Me and my roommates were high on sugar or something because we were dancing around in our apartment and being goofy and hyper. We decided to turn up the music and go out on the balcony and dance. That's when I saw these 2 boys walking by. One was wearing this hot pink shirt and I noticed him right away. I yelled out "Hey! Whats up? Sweet shirt!" He looked up, nodded his head and raised his eyebrows. I remember thinking, "that guy must be cocky, he thinks he is too good to say 'thanks' or even a simple 'hello'." Anyways... that night my roommate went to this bonfire that night and when she came home she proceeded to tell me that she met the guy with the pink shirt (Cory refuses to admit it is pink, he says it is salmon- It's definetly pink) and that she invited him over to meet me and the other roommates. The next day he came over. This is the first time I actually met Cory. I saw him and he was such a nerd. Total return missionary,hair parted and all. He even wore tapered jeans! I wasn't really attracted to him at first and he says the same about me. He said he got turned off by me when he heard the first thing that I said that day. "So... do you have any hot roommates?" By the way, I do not remember saying this. Then he and my roommate tried for 20 minutes to convince me to go to the planetarium with them. I finally agreed so that they would leave me alone. The day of the planetarium I was sitting on the couch in some sweats, when my roommate comes in and asks why I am not ready. I told her I forgot because I really wasn't planning on going but that I would go for her sake. So because of this we were late and couldn't get into the planetarium. (ha ha, this was working out perfectly) I thought we were going to go home and then my dumb roommate said that we should fly kites and that she had one in her apartment. I am actually so glad that she did because this is when I started to like Cory. We flew kites in the parking lot across from our apartments. I kept on teasing my roommate by making her jump and try to get the kite and Cory and I kept making jokes and I realized that he had a great sense of humor. I also noticed that he appreciated my sense of humor as well.. which if you know me at all, not everyone thinks I'm funny, they just think I am disgusting or crude. Anyways, I remember that on my way home I said to my roommate "Cory is so cute!" She then said, "I know!! He is so hot! I am so glad I met him..." Oh great, my roommate likes him, I better back off. "Well, you can have him." The next weekend she was making out with a random guy on my couch. Cory was mine for the taking. We both had big crushes on each other and spent every waking moment together.

2. What do you remember most about him/her?

I remember how Cory was unlike most guys I knew. He was very respectful and old fashion. He made me feel like I was the only girl in the world that he noticed. He waited over a month before he kissed me and I loved how our relationship didn't feel like it was only physical. I also loved that he kissed me first. He was also very thoughtful and romantic. One thing I loved about him was that he was very humble. He was always the better person and was the first to appologize he is still like this. He didn't care about having lot of money and he knew that money didn't guarantee happiness. He loved spending quality time with the people he cared about. I also remember that he had a close group of friends that he grew up with and he had the coolest stories about them all. -And that they had a name.. The Creekers. They are the coolest group of guys and what makes it better is they have the best wives too.

3. Who asked out who first?

Well, if we are talking about a date, I guess he asked me out. If we are talking about when we became a couple, I would say it just came up. We were in Spring Creek, NV, a little over a month since we first met, laying in the grass on the golf course behind mt parents house. That's when we decided to make it official.

4. What did you do on your first date?

We went to this family owned pizza place in Rigby, Idaho. It was right before I left to go home to Nevada for spring break I think. We ate pizza and he gave me this folder, like the ones we had in elementary school. I was like, okay, whats this? I opened it and he had made a collage of pictures of us. It was so cute and weird at the same time.

5. What were your favorite things to do together when you were dating?

We loved going on long walks around Rexburg. We liked to go to the hydro tube which is no longer there. We would climb up to the top and sit in the tube and talk. We also played lots of games with my roommates and we loved going to the sand dunes for bonfires.

6. When was your first kiss with your sweetheart?

Our first kiss was one month after we met. We had been hanging out everyday since we met and it was well known that we had a thing for each other. We came home one night and when we were walking up the stairs to my apartment, one of my roommates was coming down. Being goofy, I said " Wish me luck!" to my roommate. She said something along the lines of "you go girl!" This made Cory blush I'm sure. I was just saying it to be funny, but when we got to the door he leaned forward and kissed me. It was the most simple and sweet kiss. He actually took my breath away, because i didn't expect it...especially after my early remark. We said goodbye and after I closed the door I squealed like a little school girl. He heard me of course.

7. When did you first realize you loved him or her?

One night I wasn't feeling well, I was having a hard time breathing, I think I was having a panic attack or something...anyways he sang church songs to me. It may sound cheesy but it helped calm me down and it was so sweet. I never had a guy sing to me, and he isn't even a singer. That's when I knew he would take care of me even when I become old and gray. This is the moment I fell in love with him. I had said it to him before this but this is when I truly knew in my heart that I loved him. I didn't know what real love was before that day.

8. Who said it ( I love you) first?

Cory said it. First he would always tease me and make me think he was going to say it but never would, examples: I love U- (pause) nited airlines. I Love you- (Pause)hooooo! (The drink) I love u- (pause) two. -The band. Every time it would catch me off guard and I thought he was going to say it. Then the day he said it we were up in Nevada visiting my parents. We decided to take a drive up to the place called Lamoille canyon. Once we got to the top it started to rain and everyone on the mountain got in their cars and drove off the mountain. We stayed. It was just us and no one else. Suddenly it stared to hail and and so Cory took off his jacket and covered me with it. After it stopped he looked at me, wiped the wet hair out of my face, kissed me and told me he loved me. It was the perfect moment and one I will never forget. Soon after he told me he loved me, Cory called me one morning and woke me up. He told me to look out my back window and this is what I saw.

9. How did he/ she propose?

The day was February 14, 2004. We went to see the movie school of rock. then went to get some Mongolian BBQ to go. We drove up to this mountain in Boise called Bogus Basin. The mountain was covered in snow. I didn't know where we were going, it was a surprise for valentines day. The roads got pretty bad so we pulled off and found a nice place to build a fire. He layed down a tarp and pulled out sleeping bags and blankets. We heated up our noodles in a pan on the fire and ate our dinner under the stars. After dinner we cuddled in the blankets and sleeping bags to stay warm. He started getting all sentimental and told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend forever with me. He told me all the things he loved about me and to be honest I just thought he was trying to be romantic because it was valentines day. Later on he kept trying to get me to stand up. He tried everything, but i kept saying no, because I was too cold. I remember him saying, "lets reenact our first kiss" I said okay, we can do it right here in the blankets because I was too cold. Finally he gave up on trying to get me to stand & said "Hey, I got somethin' for ya" I looked at his hand and he was holding a ring! I was so shocked. He then asked me to marry him and i said yes. I didn't see it coming at all. I never thought he would propose on that day because I had told him I thought it was so corny when people get engaged on V-day. He said he knew I wouldn't expect it but that it wasn't valentines day anymore, because it was past midnight. He said that is why he kept trying to get me to stand up, so that he could get down on one knee and propose. Immediately we got out of the blankets and he got down and proposed... I of course said yes!

10. What are two things you remember most about your wedding day?

I remember crying because my dad was late to the temple. I was so embarrassed because I hate crying in front of people. I walked into the room to be sealed and as soon as I entered I felt the tears coming and I covered my face and started to cry. It was horrible and is my least favorite memory about the day. As soon as my dad showed up everything was all better and I could concentrate on my soon to be husband.

The second thing I remember about my wedding day was the sweet reception. It was exactly how me and Cory would have wanted it. It was real chill with friends and family. I remember we ran through a tunnel of sparklers when we left. It was pretty sweet.
