They dont call it the Luck of the Irish for nothin...

...because it took some serious luck to get out of this trap.

Last night, me and the kids decided to try and capture a Leprechaun on St. Patricks Day. We worked hard. We lured him in with a rainbow ,( finger painted by Lauren and mom) A pot of gold, some clovers( created by Claire) and even tried to trick him by adding a picture of a fellow leprechaun.

We had our 3 wishes ready this morning in hopes that we caught that tricky little green dude... but he somehow managed to escape. He left footprints everywhere, knocked over all the chairs in the kitchen, turned the toilet water green and also turned the milk green! I guess we deserved it after trying to capture him. If Lauren had gotten a hold of him, he would probrably have a few broken limbs by now.

I guess he decided to be a little nice because he left a few hints on printed shamrocks, and they had to find them in order with the color of the rainbow. They really liked the treasure!

Afterwards, I told them how if they aren't wearing green, then I get to pinch them. Claire LOVED that part. And after the pinching wars, we finally sat down and ate breakfast. Green pancakes! Tonight when Cory gets home, he will get lucky because he gets to drink root beer floats with us. The leprechaun left us some of that too! Yay for St. Patties Day!

Ha ha--I started to type my comment and then realized I was repeating exactly what the others already said. I guess you really are a fun mom! Next time post about this ahead of time so we can copy your ideas. I'm lucky we remembered to wear green! :)
